PRODUCT INFORMATION
Where are your products made?
All of our linen bedding, clothing, kitchen and bath linens, curtains and blankets are made in a small, family-run studio in Latvia.
What is stone washed linen?
Stone washing is a technique that uses stones — or, more recently, enzymes — to soften the linen fabric, increase its flexibility and give it that cozy, lived-in feel. Pre-washing doesn’t affect the durability and quality of the fabric. On the contrary, it prevents shrinkage so your items can easily be machine washed and tumble dried.
Is linen eco-friendly?
Yes, linen is eco-friendly! It is a natural fiber derived from the flax plant, which doesn't need pesticides to grow and requires 60% less water than cotton. Every part of the flax plant is used to produce various products, from linen fabrics to linenseed oil. Besides, linen can be recycled and is naturally biodegradable, which puts it high on the eco-friendliness chart.
What does OEKO-TEX certified mean?
All DeniLinen products are made from OEKO-TEX certified linen. The certification ensures the human-ecological safety of textile products in all stages of production (raw materials and fibers, yarns, fabrics, end products). Products that are OEKO-TEX certified are absent of allergenic dyes, pesticides, heavy metals and other harmful substances. The certification is voluntary and must be updated annually.
Can you make custom sizes?
We do offer custom sizes for all our products except clothing. To request a custom size, please email us at
info@denilinen.com and we’ll calculate the price, production and delivery times for you.
How should I wash my linens?
Caring for linen is simple: you can both hand wash and machine wash linen items at low temperatures. Linen can be tumble dried on low heat. We don’t recommend using bleach or detergent with optical brighteners as they tend to weaken the fibers. For more details on linen care, read our Linen Care Guide.
Do you collaborate with bloggers, photographers, stylists, and magazines?
We are always happy to collaborate with bloggers, stylists and other creatives who share our love for high-quality linen items. Please send us your ideas to info@denilinen.com and our marketing department will get in touch with you.
Is linen more durable than cotton?
Yes, linen is thicker and about 30% stronger than cotton. The reason is because the flax plant, from linen is derived, produces much longer fibers than the cotton plant. Fiber length contributes directly to yarn strength, which influences the strength and durability of the fabric.
Do linen shirts wrinkle easily?
Wrinkles are a natural part of linen fabric, regardless of the garment. They actually signify the quality of linen: more wrinkles means the linen is pure, less wrinkles means it might've been mixed with cotton. This is because the flax fibers are low in elasticity preventing linen from stretching, but also giving it a crumpled, lived-in texture.
Do I need to iron my linens?
When it comes to reducing wrinkles, ironing is one way to go. However, it will hardly give you the smooth result you are looking for and it may weaken the fiber over time. If you do decide to iron your linens, do it while they are a little damp and use a quality steamer. Also, make sure you split the difference between natural linen wrinkles and folding lines: the latter can be removed while the former are a natural part of the linen fabric and texture.
